Watershift’s Beginnings

Watershift emerged through the commitment and dedication of Graeme Saunders, a qualified Civil Engineer with over 40 years of experience. Having worked in the industry for some time, Graeme observed a distinct lack of specialised tools, vehicles and services which the industry desperately needed.

In 1996, water trucks required jumping out of the truck to start their pump and open valves. In response, Graeme bought an ex-fuel tanker to refit as a water truck. This custom truck was entirely cab-operated. In other words, you could switch on the pump motor, throttle control, and open-air valves – all from within the cab! The truck also had an irrigation sprinkler with a 50m range, sprays on each corner, a water cannon and a pressure washer bar across the front.

In 2003, the Ezy Wind Hose Reel was designed in response to the lack of robust and reliable hose reels available. We are proud to provide a fully Australian-made product with a 20-year structural guarantee. The Ezy Wind reel has proven to be superior in strength and reliability when tested under rugged working conditions.

Watershift Today

In 2004 the company Watershift Group Pty Ltd was officially formed. Today, we have expanded our services and products available. They now include custom water trucks, fire trucks, skid-mounted fire attack units, and other special-purpose vehicles. Combining Graeme’s knowledge with the quality workmanship of local motor body fabricators has proven to be a winning combination. It ensures the production of productive, high-quality, and reliable vehicles.

We have been manufacturers of Ezy Wind Hose Reels, designers of Water Truck fabrications, and distributors of Pumps, Cartage Tanks, Water Cannons and many other water-related products for over 15 years, and enjoy building a solid, long-term and prosperous relationship with our customers.
